  • We collect only what we need to tailor resumes and run your account.
  • We never sell your data or share resumes with advertisers.
  • Anthropic processes your text to generate output but does not train on it.
  • You can delete everything at any time from Settings.

This Privacy Policy describes how TheJobIsYours("we", "us", or "our") collects, uses, and discloses information when you use our website and services (the "Service").

    Information we collect

    We keep the data we collect narrow on purpose. Here's what goes into our systems:

    • Account information — your email address and, optionally, the name you provide so we can personalize emails.
    • Resumes and job postings — files you upload and the descriptions or URLs you submit to generate tailored output.
    • Generated output — resumes, cover letters, match scores, and related metadata produced by the Service.
    • Billing information — we use Stripe. We store a Stripe customer reference and subscription state but never see or store your full payment card details.
    • Usage data — standard server logs (IP address, user agent, request paths) retained for a short period to operate and secure the Service.

    How we use your information

    • To provide and improve the Service, including generating tailored resumes and cover letters.
    • To process payments, manage credits, and send service-related email (receipts, renewal notifications).
    • To detect, prevent, and respond to abuse, fraud, or security incidents.
    • To comply with applicable law.

    How we share your information

    We only share your information with service providers who help us operate the Service:

    • Anthropic — our AI provider, which processes the text of your resume and the job posting to generate tailored output. Anthropic does not train on content submitted through their API.
    • Supabase — database and storage for your account and uploaded files.
    • Stripe — payment processing.
    • Resend — transactional email delivery.
    • Vercel — website hosting.

    We do not sell your personal information. We do not share your resumes or tailored output with advertisers or marketers.

    Data retention and deletion

    We retain your account and associated data for as long as your account is active. You may delete your account at any time from Settings, which immediately and permanently removes your resumes, job postings, tailored resumes, cover letters, and profile from our systems. Purchased credits are not refundable upon deletion unless required by law.

    Security

    We use industry-standard safeguards, including encryption in transit and at rest, scoped database access, and audit logs. No system is perfectly secure — if you suspect your account has been compromised, email us immediately at hi@thejobisyours.com.

    Your rights

    Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have rights to access, correct, export, or delete your personal data. You can exercise most of these rights directly from your account settings, or by emailing us at hi@thejobisyours.com.

    Children

    The Service is not directed to individuals under 16. We do not knowingly collect information from children.

    Changes to this policy

    We may update this policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify you by email or via a prominent notice on the Service.
